An apology to everybody he hurt while maintaining his innocence.
Chris D’Elia is an American comedian, actor, writer, and a podcast host with lots of credits to his name, and before the accusations, he had a prank show in the works with Netflix and also he had a role in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Army of the Dead which now has been taken over by Tig Notaro.
Chris D’Elia has been accused by many women of sexual harassment and misconduct over the past few months and also he has been accused of soliciting nude photos from underage girls and he has been quiet for all that time, but today he uploaded a ten-minute video titled “It’s been awhile.” on his YouTube channel apologizing to all the women he hurt, and admitting that he has a problem and he is trying to be better.
Note: Normally we don’t write about celebrities’ personal lives but in this video D’Elia has asked some very important questions which we thought are important to ask everybody.
Chris D’Elia isn’t necessarily admitting to doing anything illegal, and maintaining his previous statement that all of his relationships were consensual and legal, by saying:
“I know it looks bad, and it doesn’t show the full scope of what happened. I stand by the fact that all my relationships have been consensual and legal, and that’s just it. That’s the truth.”
A large portion of the video was about D’Elia describing his problem with sex and admitting to cheating on most of the women he has been in a relationship with:
“Sex controlled my life. It was my focus all the time. I had a problem, and I do have a problem,” he said. “It was out of control, so I have a chance here to apologize to the people that got caught up in that shit, and the lies that I would tell my fiancée, my friends, and I’m sorry.” D’Elia added that he’s been “on this path to recovery for a bunch of months” and that “it’s the hardest thing ever to have to look at yourself and realize that’s that’s what it is, and that’s what you’ve done, and that’s who you are.”
