Kathryn Hahn has just revealed that the highly anticipated MCU Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos will begin filming next month. Hahn, who plays the titular character revealed this news while making her way down the red carpet at the Chicago International Film Festival.
Agatha Harkness was meant to be a one-off character in the first MCU Disney+ series WandaVision, but the popularity of the character led the bigwigs at Marvel Studios to announce a spin-off revolving around Agatha. Now, it has been revealed by the actor who plays the character herself that the filming of the series will begin “in about a month.”
The last we saw of Agatha was in the Disney+ series WandaVision where she wreaked havoc on the mind of Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and on the town of Westview, but before the end, Agatha is defeated and Wanda puts a hex on her, which makes her believe that she was always a part of the community in Westview. With the upcoming spin-off series picking up the story right where WandaVision ended, we might see Agatha getting back her powers and doing some nefarious deeds to the unassuming people of the Earth.
While little to no detail about the series is available, it was recently revealed that Emma Caulfield will be returning to her role of Dottie, the head woman of Westview. Alongside Caufield, WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer will also be returning to write the spin-off series and he will also serve as an executive producer on the series.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos was announced back in November 2021 during the Disney+ Day event, but in 2021 the series was titled Agatha: House of Harkness which underwent a name change, and the new title was announced during the San Diego Comic-Con.
A release date for the upcoming series has not yet been revealed but check out the red carpet clip of Hahn giving the good news of starting production on Agatha: Coven of Chaos herself:
