If you were feeling that The Boys is coming to an end too quickly because the next season of the popular dark superhero comedy-drama has been announced to be its last. Then fear not because the world of The Boys just got a little bit bigger as a new prequel series titled Vought Rising was just announced at The Boys Comic-Con panel. Vought Rising will star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash in the lead roles of Soldier Boys and Stormfront aka Clara Vought.
The prequel series will be set in the 1950s and it will follow the scandalous and bloody life of Soldier Boy and Stormfront as they become two of Vought’s earliest superheroes. Vought Rising is being described as a “twisted murder mystery,” in addition to being a “grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V” by the creator of The Boys, Erick Kripke.
It was also confirmed that Ackles will be returning as Soldier Boy in the fifth and final season of The Boys, after the tease we got in the Season 4 finale. So, get ready for much more of Soldier Boy, as he swears his way through a pulpy murder mystery in the ’50 while also being a part of The Boys Universe’s apocalypse in Season 5.
Vought Rising will be executive produced by Paul Grellong, Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Mortiz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr. The prequel series is being produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Point Grey Pictures, Kripke Enterprises, and Original Film.
Vought Rising becomes the third series in The Boys Universe besides the flagship series, and if the others were any indicator, it is going to be a good one. So, strap the f*** up for this upcoming wild ride for which we have no release date for.
