Despite the reports last week, Amber Heard has not been fired from DCEU’s Aquaman 2, and will play Mera in the upcoming sequel and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
The rumors suggesting that Amber Heard has been removed from the upcoming Aquaman sequel have been quashed. Heard plays the Xebellian princess Mera in DCEU, she first appeared as Mera in 2017’s Justice League and went on to play the character in the first Aquaman solo movie which for she was praised by the audience and the critics.
Amber Heard will reprise the role of princess Mera in the upcoming “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” and Aquaman 2, which will bring back Jason Momoa as the titular hero. The film is set to release in December 2022 and the filming is expected to begin this summer.
On Sunday, unverified reports of Heard’s removal from the Aquaman sequel emerged online, which caused the actress to trend online. The rumors of Heard‘s firing have been making headlines for so much time now, following the brutal and very public court divorce of Amber Heard and “Pirates of the Caribbean” star ex-husband Johnny Depp, many people have been trolling the actress online including starting petitions to get Heard fired from DCEU. Things started heating up when Warner Bros. asked Johnny Depp to step down from his role of Grindlewald in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequel, and from then on fans have trying to get Johnny Depp his roles back and trying to get Heard fired.
Nothing is set in stone, from that I mean anything can happen in the future but for now, Amber Heard is all set to play Mera in Aquaman 2. Quashing the rumors of Heard‘s firing from DCEU, THR reporter Ryan Parker took to Twitter to deny the rumors, and tweeted this:
