If you loved the dark comedy and thrilling mystery in Paul Feig‘s A Simple Favor. Then get ready for a much-anticipated sequel, which is coming out this May with both Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively returning to reprise their respective leading roles.
Feig is returning to the director’s chair for the sequel alongside Jessica Sharzer, who penned the script with Laeta Kalogridis. The original film was based on Kalogridis’s 2017 novel A Simple Favor by Darcey Bell. While the first film was based on the novel, the upcoming sequel will be an original story.

After the surprising announcement in May 2022 that the dark comedy mystery thriller film A Simple Favor will be getting a sequel, the film was all set to begin filming in Fall 2023 in Capri, Italy. However, because of a few delays, the principal photography on the film began in late March 2024, and it wrapped up on May 26, 2024.
