Michael Keaton returns to reprise his iconic leading role of the politically incorrect ghost, Beetlejuice as he is called upon to the realm of the living after Lydia’s daughter Astrid accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife and with trouble brewing in the realms of the living and the dead, Beetlejuice is all set to unleash his own type of mayhem.
Winona Ryder
Winona Ryder will be returning to reprise one of the leading roles of Lydia Deetz in the legacy sequel film. Lydia is now a mother of a rebellious teen daughter, Astrid (Jenna Ortega) and now works as the hostess of the Ghost House with Lydia Deetz show. Ryder is also set to reprise her iconic role as Joyce Byers in Netflix’s worldwide hit series Stranger Things.
Catherine O’Hara
Catherine O’Hara returns to reprise the beloved iconic role of Delia Deetz. Who’s now working as the hostess of a real art show in Soho, London gallery. O’Hara most recently appeared in the immensely popular Canadian comedy series Schitt’s Creek in which she starred alongside Annie Murphy, Eugene, and Dan Levy.
New Cast Members
Jenna Ortega
Jenna Ortega has become immensely popular because of her brilliant performances in iconic horror movies and TV shows including her leading roles in the Scream franchise and Netflix’s Wednesday. Ortega will be taking over one of the lead roles of Astrid Deetz, Lydia’s rebellious teen daughter who gets caught up in some danger forcing Lydia to call on Beetlejuice to help her.
Monica Bellucci
Monica Bellucci is one of the most well-known actresses working in Hollywood right now by appearing in some of the most iconic films including The Matrix franchise and the French drama film The Apartment. Bellucci will be taking over the role of Delores, the ex-wife of Beetlejuice who poisoned him during the Black Plague.
Willem Dafoe
The always brilliant Willem Dafoe is all set to take over the role of Wolf Jackson, who’s a ghost detective but he worked as a B movie action star when he was alive. In the trailer, we saw Dafoe’s character searching for Monica Bellucci‘s Delores. Dafoe recently reprised his iconic role of the Green Goblin in the 2021 mega-hit film Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Justin Theroux
Justin Theroux is an immensely talented actor who has appeared in brilliant movies and TV shows like American Psycho and The Leftovers. Theroux is taking over the role of Rory who’s a television producer and Lydia’s current boyfriend.
Other actors joining the franchise in the legacy sequel are Burn Gorman as Father Damien with Danny DeVito, Arthur Conti, and Filipe Cates joining the cast in undisclosed roles.
Who’s Not Returning?
Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis won’t be returning to reprise their leading roles of Adam and Barbara Maitland from the original film alongside Jeffrey Jones who played the role of Charles Deetz. Actors Sylvia Sidney and Glenn Shadix who played the roles of Juno and Otho Fenlock also won’t be returning as they have passed away since the first film.
