Fantasy is the genre that we all love most as kids and then after growing up with it we kind of love immersing ourselves into a magical world filled with dragons and bands of heroes. While all fantasy shows are not as earnest and hopeful as they were during our childhood, they still provide us with an escape into a world filled with wonder. So, we thought of making a list of the best fantasy shows you can with your Prime Video subscription.

Merlin

Merlin is a British fantasy adventure series created by Julian Jones, Jake Michie, Johnny Capps, and Julian Murphy. Loosely based on the Arthurian Legends, the BBC One series follows the story of a young Merlin as he heads to Camelot to live with the court physician Gaius. Merlin has to hide the fact that he is a warlock because King Uther Pendragon outlawed magic in the Kingdom twenty years ago. Merlin soon figures out that his destiny is to save Prince Arthur from sinister foes until he can become the king we all know. Merlin stars Colin Morgan in the lead role with Angel Coulby, Bradley James, Katie McGrath, Anthony Head, Richard Wilson, John Hurt, and Nathaniel Parker starring in supporting roles.

The Legend of Vox Machina

The Legend of Vox Machina is an adult animated fantasy adventure series created by Brandon Auman and Critical Role Productions. Based on the first campaign of the first campaign of the Dungeons & Dragons web series titled Critical Role, the Prime Video series follows the story of a band of eight unique heroes who call themselves Vox Machina as they go on quests to save the kingdom from dark magical forces. The Legend of Vox Machina’s voice cast includes Matthew Mercer, Ashley Johnson, Marisha Ray, Laura Bailey, Sam Riegel, Travis Willingham, Taliesin Jaffe, David Tennant, Stephanie Beatriz, and Mason Alexander Park.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an animated fantasy-adventure series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The Nickelodeon series is set in a world that is divided into four nations named after four classical elements: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. When the Fire Nation wages war on every other kingdom to take control of their lands the only thing standing in their way is a twelve-year-old mischievous boy Aang, who is the new Avatar who must master all four elements to defeat the Fire Nation. Avatar: The Last Airbender’s voice cast includes Jack De Sena, Zach Tyler Eisen, and Mae Whitman in the lead roles with Dante Basco, Michaela Jill Murphy, Jennie Kwan, Grey DeLisle, Olivia Hack, Mako, Dee Bradley Baker, Greg Baldwin, and Cricket Leigh.

Good Omens

Good Omens is a fantasy comedy-adventure series created by Neil Gaiman. Based on a novel of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, the Prime Video series follows the story of a demon Crowley, and an angel Aziraphale who must stop the antichrist from coming and destroying the world because they have grown attached to the planet and to each other. Good Omens stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen in the lead roles with Sam Taylor Buck, Jon Hamm, Frances McDormand, Adria Arjona, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Jack Whitehall starring in supporting roles.

The Wheel of Time

The Wheel of Time is a high fantasy adventure drama series created by Rafe Judkins. Based on a novel series of the same name by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, the Prime Video series is set in a fantasy world and it follows the story of Moiraine, a member of a magical organization as she takes five young people on a journey believing that one of them might be the reincarnation of the Dragon, who is prophesized to either save the world or destroy it. The Wheel of Time stars Rosamund Pike in the lead role with Barney Harris, Marcus Rutherford, Zoë Robins, Joshua Stradowski, Daniel Henney, Madeleine Madden, Álvaro Morte, Kate Fleetwood, Dónal Finn, and Sophie Okonedo starring in supporting roles.

Grimm

Grimm is a fantasy police procedural series created by Stephen Carpenter, Jim Kouf, and David Greenwalt. Based on a collection of German Fairytales titled Grimm’s Fairy Tales by the Brothers’ Grimm, the NBC series follows the story of Nick Burkhardt, a police detective who begins to see monsters walking down the road and soon he realizes that just like his ancestors he is also a huntsman, who catch and kill evil entities and monsters in our civilized society. Grimm stars David Guintoli in the lead role with Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell, Russell Hornsby Sasha Roiz, Claire Coffee, Bree Turner, Reggie Lee, and Jaime Ray Newman starring in supporting roles.

American Gods

American Gods is a fantasy drama series created by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green. Based on a 2001 novel of the same name by British author Neil Gaiman, the Starz series follows the story of Shadow, an ex-convict who takes up the job of protecting the god Odin disguised as Mr. Wednesday. When Shadow finds himself in a world of gods and demons he must find his place in this new reality and figure out how he belongs there. The Librarians is a fantasy adventure series created by John Rogers. Based on a series of made-for-TV films titled The Librarian by David Titcher, the TNT series follows the story of a group of new librarians at the metropolitan public library as they realize that their job is to protect ancient mystical artifacts. Teen Wolf

Teen Wolf is a teen supernatural drama series created by Jeff Davis. Based on a 1985 film of the same name by Jeph Loeb and Matthew Weisman, the MTV series follows the story of Scott McCall, an awkward teen who turns into a werewolf after being bitten by one. Now, he must figure out his new powers while also handling the life of a teenager but he is not alone as he is helped by his best friend Stiles. I’m a Virgo is an absurdist comedy miniseries created by Boots Riley. The Prime Video series follows the story of Cootie, a 13-foot-tall (4.0 m), 19-year-old Black teenager who was raised by his aunt and uncle. Cootie was always cut off from the world until he accidentally gets discovered by a group of teenage political activists.
