Plus One (February 1)
Plus One is a romantic comedy film co-written and co-directed by Jeff Chan and Andrew Rhymer. The 2019 film follows Ben King and Alice Mori, two young friends who attend multiple weddings together but they soon fall for each other. Plus One stars Jack Quaid, Maya Erskine, Beck Bennett, Rosalind Chao, Perrey Reeves, and Ed Begley Jr.
Fast Five (February 11)
Fast Five is an action thriller film directed by Justin Lin from a screenplay by Chris Morgan. The 2011 film is the fifth installment in the Fast and Furious film franchise, and it follows Dom and his team reuniting to steal $100 million from a corrupt businessman in Brazil. Fast Five stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, and Dwayne Johnson.
Pearl (February 15)
Pearl is a horror drama film directed by Ti West, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Mia Goth. The 2022 is the second installment in the X film series and it follows Pearl, a young woman on an isolated farm as she tries to take care of her ailing father while living with her controlling mother. She dreams of getting out of the farm and living a glamorous life in Los Angeles. Pearl stars Mia Goth, David Corenswet, Tandi Wright, Matthew Sunderland, Emma Jenkins-Purro, and Alistair Sewell.
Southpaw (February 20)
Southpaw is a sports drama film directed by Antoine Fuqua from a screenplay by Kurt Sutter. The 2015 film follows Billy Hope, a boxer who loses his wife in a tragic accident and soon his daughter is taken by child protection services. He tries to get his life back on track by getting back into the ring and getting his daughter back. Southpaw stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Naomie Harris, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Oona Laurence, and Rachel McAdams.
The Angry Birds Movie (February 28)
The Angry Birds Movie is an animated comedy film co-directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly from a screenplay by Jon Vitti. Based on the video game series of the same name developed by Rovio Entertainment, the 2016 film is set on an island populated by anthropomorphic flightless birds and it follows Red, who has a problem with controlling his anger. The Angry Birds’ voice cast includes Jason Sudeikis, Peter Dinklage, Bill Hader, Josh Gad, Maya Rudolph, Danny McBride, and Sean Penn.
Cinderella Man (February 28)
Cinderella Man is a biographical drama film directed by Ron Howard from a screenplay co-written by Cliff Hollingsworth and Akiva Goldsman. The 2005 film follows the true life story of heavyweight boxing champion James J. Braddock as he and his family suffer through the Great Depression. Cinderella Man stars Russell Crow, Renée Zellweger, Paul Giamatti, Craig Bierko, Bruce McGill, Paddy Considine, and Connor Price.
Due Date (February 28)
Due Date is a dark comedy road trip film directed by Todd Phillips, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Alan R. Cohen, Alan Freedland, and Adam Sztykiel. The 2010 film follows Peter Highman trying to reach Los Angeles before his pregnant wife gives birth to their first child, but because of a manchild named Ethan Chase, he gets put on the no-fly list and now both Peter and Ethan must rent a car to get to Los Angeles. Due Date stars Robert Downey Jr., Zach Galifianakis, Michelle Monaghan, Juliette Lewis, and Jamie Foxx.
Inception (February 28)
Inception is a sci-fi action heist thriller film written and directed by Christopher Nolan. The 2010 film follows Cob and his team who specialize in stealing extremely confidential information from people’s dreams. They are soon hired for an extremely dangerous mission that might leave them stranded in the dream world. Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Elliot Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, and Michael Caine.
Sixteen Candles (February 28)
Sixteen Candles is a coming-of-age teen comedy film written and directed by John Hughes. The 1984 film follows Samantha Baker on her sixteenth birthday as her parents forget about it, and the day only gets worse as she suffers all sorts of public embarrassment. Sixteen Candles stars Molly Ringwald, Paul Dooley, Justin Henry, Anthony Michael Hall, Haviland Morris, and Gedde Watanabe.
Stand by Me (February 28)
Stand by Me is a coming-of-age drama film directed by Rob Reiner from a screenplay co-written by Bruce A. Evans and Raynold Gideon. Based on the 1982 novella The Body by Stephen King, the 1986 film follows four young friends who decide to go on a hiking trip to find the dead body of Ray Brower. Stand by Me stars Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O’Connell, and Kiefer Sutherland.
