Anthony Mackie has closed the deal and will reprise the role of Captain America in the upcoming sequel.
The script for the fourth Captain America film will be written by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. Both of them previously worked on the Disney+ Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Kevin Feige is producing the film but there is no director attached to the project yet.
Deadline broke the news, and also added that it’s unclear if Sebastian Stan will return as the Winter Soldier in the film, but the odds of Stan returning are pretty high because of the chemistry we saw between Stan and Mackie on the small screen. Deadline also stated that Captain America 4 is not the same Marvel project that is expected to bring Chris Evans back into the MCU.
Mackie is a great actor and he has proven his worth in Marvel he has appeared in which are a total of five movies after being introduced in Captain America: Winter Soldier. Mackie’s new role as Captain America to say the least feels earned by his dedication and audience love for him.
