Disney is Making Jungle Cruise 2 with Original Stars Set to Return

It seems Disney has found its new Pirates of the Caribbean with Jungle Cruise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is making the sequel to the 2021 film Jungle Cruise, this announcement came after the film crossed the $100 million mark this weekend. Jungle Cruise 2 is officially in development at the studio.

Jungle Cruise stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are set to return to reprise their roles as Frank and Dr. Lily Houghton, so is the director Jaume Collet-Serra. Michael Green, who co-wrote the first film hasn’t been tapped yet for the sequel. The producers of the Jungle Cruise film are also returning which includes John Davis, John Fox, Beau Flynn, Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia. Scott Sheldon will also be returning as an executive producer.

The first Jungle Cruise film was released both theatrically and on streaming on July 30 for Disney+ subscribers with an additional fee via Disney Premier Access. Jungle Cruise film also stars Jack Whitehall as Lily’s brother MacGregor, Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti, and Edgar Ramírez.

Jungle Cruise is on its way for a digital release on all major platforms on August 31, and the film will be on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD on November 16.
