The sophomore season of the Peacock anthology series has just cast The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story famed actor Edgar Ramirez in the lead role.
Ramirez will be playing the role of Paolo Macchiarini. The second season of the series is based on the third season of the Wondery podcast of the same name. Macchiarini was a visionary surgeon whose innovations in organ transplants gave the medical community some great ideas. When some suspicious colleagues and his own fiance Benita Alexander start digging up some information they find some questionable things. All the whole a group of doctors halfway across the world makes shocking discoveries of their own that bring everything into question.
Ashley Michel Hoban will be taking on the duties of showrunner on Season 2 of Dr. Death. The second season of the series will be directed by Jennifer Morrison and Laura Belsey.
