The upcoming Dune prequel series on HBO Max has added the Vikings famed actor Travis Fimmel to its cast. The upcoming HBO Max series titled Dune: The Sisterhood will explore the origins of the Bene Gesserit, which was present in the Dune film. Fimmel’s casting news was confirmed by Variety.
Diane Ademu-John will be serving as the creator, writer, co-showrunner, and executive producer on the upcoming series, while Alison Schapker is credited as co-showrunner and executive producer. The pilot is set to be directed by one of the directors from HBO’s hit series Chernobyl, Johan Renck.
Kevin J. Anderson is serving as a co-producer on Dune: The Sisterhood. Denis Villeneuve, Jon Spaihts, Scott Z. Burns, Matthew King, John Cameron, Cait Collins, and Brian Herbert are serving as executive producers on the Dune prequel series. While Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert are executive producers and will oversee the project for the Frank Herbert estate.
Dune: Part Two is all set to come out on November 3, 2023.
