Peacock’s dramatic reboot of Will Smith‘s comedy series has announced its main cast. The upcoming Peacock series titled Bel-Air has added eight actors, who will star alongside the previously announced lead star Jabari Banks as Will.
The newly announced cast includes Adrian Holmes (At That Age) as Phillip Banks, Cassandra Freeman (Atlanta) as Vivian, Olly Sholotan (Run Hide Fight) as Carlton Banks, Coco Jones (Vampires vs. The Bronx) as Hilary Banks, Akira Akbar (We Can Be Heroes) as Ashley Banks, Jimmy Akingbola (Most Dangerous Game) as Geoffrey, Jordan L. Jones (Snowfall) as Jazz, and Simone Joy Jones (The Chair) as Lisa.
Peacock’s Bel-Air is based on the viral video of the same name by Morgan Cooper, which was inspired by Will Smith’s comedy series. The upcoming series recieved two-season order by Peacock back in September 2020. Bel-Air will be set in modern-day America and it is described as a serialized one-hour dramatic analog sitcom version that leans on the original concept of the Smith’s sitcom.
Cooper will be serving as co-writer, director, and executive producer on the series. T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson will be serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. The series will be executive produced by Smith, Quincy Jones, Benny Medina, Andy and Susan Borowitz, Miguel Melendez, and Terence Carter. There is no release date announced for the series yet.
