2024 is over, and it was a great year for Apple TV+ and its subscribers because of all the marvelous content we got. In my opinion, it is nothing compared to what Apple TV+ has in store for us for 2025, as some of the most highly-anticipated Apple TV+ original shows will be premiering this year. So, let’s find out which of your favorite Apple TV+ original shows or some incredible new shows are coming to Apple TV+ in 2025.
Severance Season 2 (January 17)
Severance is a sci-fi psychological mystery thriller drama series created by Dan Erickson. The much-anticipated upcoming Season 2 of the Apple TV+ series will continue the story of Mark Scout and his team as they bear the consequences of their actions in the Season 1 finale. We will also delve deeper into the work Mark and his team are doing at Lumon Industries. Severance stars Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken, with Gwendoline Christie, Bob Balaban, Merritt Weaver, Alia Shawkat, Robby Benson, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, John Noble, Sarah Bock, and Stefano Carannante joining the cast in the upcoming season.
Prime Target (January 22)
Prime Target is an upcoming conspiracy thriller drama miniseries created by Steve Thompson. The Apple TV+ series follows Edward Brook, a post-graduate mathematics student who is very close to a breakthrough in his work of accessing every computer in the world. He soon realizes that someone is trying to destroy his work and reaches out to NSA agent Taylah Sanders for help. Prime Target stars Leo Woodall, Quintessa Swindell, Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, and Sidse Babett Knudsen. Filming on Prime Target began in May 2023, and it wrapped up in August 2023.
Mythic Quest Season 4 (January 29)
Mythic Quest is a comedy series created by Charlie Day, Megan Ganz, and Rob McElhenney. The upcoming Season 4 of the Apple TV+ series will see the Mythic Quest team reunited under the same roof as they face off against the ever-changing video game landscape while also dealing with hilarious internal conflicts. Mythic Quest stars Rob McElhenney, Ashly Burch, Jessie Ennis, Imani Hakim, David Hornsby, Charlotte Nicdao, and Danny Pudi. Filming on Mythic Quest Season 4 began in March 2024, and it wrapped up on May 4, 2024.
Dope Thief (March 14)
Dope Thief is an upcoming crime drama series created by Peter Craig. Based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Dennis Toya, the Apple TV+ series is set in Philadelphia, and it follows two friends who pose as DEA agents to rob a house. Still, they soon discover that they robbed a large narcotics operation, and now they must bear the consequences. Dope Thief stars Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, and Kate Mulgrew. Dope Thief began filming in February 2023 in Philadelphia. Still, the production wasn’t as smooth as the creators had hoped, as an on-set altercation forced the executives to fire Michael Mando and replace him with Wagner Moura. Just a couple of months later, the production was halted because of the WGA and SAG strikes.
The Studio (March 26)
The Studio is an upcoming dark comedy series created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. The Apple TV+ series follows Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of Continental Studios, as he tries to juggle narcissistic actors and greedy corporate overlords to make good films. The Studio stars Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders. Filming began for The Studio in March 2024.
Side Quest (March 26)
Side Quest is an upcoming comedy anthology series created by Ashly Burch, John Howell Harris and Katie McElhenney. The Apple TV+ series is a spin-off to Mythic Quest, and it follows the lives of employees, fans, and players whose lives are impacted by Mythic Quest. Side Quest stars Rob McElhenney, Anna Konkle, Derek Waters, William Stanford Davis, Bria Henderson, Rome Flynn, Leonard Robinson, Gary Kraus, Annamarie Kasper, Esai Morales, and Shalita Grant.
Your Friends & Neighbors (April 11)
Your Friends & Neighbors is an upcoming crime thriller drama series created by Jonathan Tropper. The Apple TV+ series follows Coop, a recently divorced New York hedge fund manager who resorts to stealing from his friends and neighbors after losing his job. Your Friends & Neighbors stars Jon Hamm, Olivia Munn, Amanda Peet, Mark Tallman, Hoon Lee, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Isabel Gravitt, Donovan Colan, and Eunice Bae. Your Friends & Neighbors began in April 2024, and Apple TV+ has already renewed it for a second season.
Government Cheese (April 16)
Government Cheese is an upcoming comedy-drama series created by Paul Hunter and Aeysha Carr. The Apple TV+ series is set in 1969 in San Fernando Valley, and it follows the quirky Chambers family after the patriarch of the family, Hampton Chambers, is released from prison. His long-awaited family reunion doesn’t go as planned, and their whole world soon turns upside down. Government Cheese stars David Oyelowo, Simone Missick, Bokeem Woodbine, Adam Beach, Sunita Mani, Jahi Winston, Evan Alexander Ellison, Jeremy Bobb, Louis Cancelmi, and Stephen Schneider. Filming on Government Cheese began in May 2024 in Los Angeles.
Slow Horses Season 5 (2025)
Slow Horses is a British spy thriller and dark comedy-drama series created by Will Smith. Based on the Slough House novel series by Mick Herron, the upcoming Season 5 of the Apple TV+ series is based on Herron’s fifth book titled London Rules. It continues the story of the Slow Horses as they are shocked to find out that resident tech nerd Roddy Ho has a new girlfriend, while bizarre events happen across London. Slow Horses stars Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Rosalind Eleazar, and Hugo Weaving. Slow Horses Season 5 has already wrapped up production, and Season 6 is now in the works.
Foundation Season 3 (2025)
Foundation is an epic sci-fi drama series created by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman. Based on the book series of the same name by author Isaac Asimov, the upcoming Season 3 of the Apple TV+ series will continue the story after a 152-year time jump in the future, which happened near the end of Season 2. Foundation Season 3 stars Alexander Siddig, Troy Kotsur, Cherry Jones, Pilou Asbæk, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Brandon P. Bell, Tómas Lemarquis, Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing, and Leo Bill. Production on Foundation Season 3 began in May 2023 and wrapped up in September 2023.
