If we are talking about a spin-off of such a hit series as How I Met Your Mother, everybody should be excited about it, right? Well, not exactly because How I Met Your Father didn’t really impress anyone in its first season, and if I am talking truthfully it’s not going to impress anyone in its second season. While all of the characters are played to perfection by the brilliant cast most notably Hilary Duff‘s Sophie. The sitcom still hasn’t found its footing in its second season. The storylines and jokes just don’t land as the creators of the series hoped for.

How I Met Your Father Season 2 tries really hard to capture the hearts and minds of the audience, which its original series so easily did. The Hulu series could have changed its approach from very nostalgia-driven storylines to focus on the characters to get a laugh, but it falls short of both good humor and good stories.

The only saving grace of How I Met Your Father is its committed cast including Duff, Francia Raisa, Suraj Sharam, Chris Lowell, Tom Ainsley, and Tien Tran. Every single person in the cast plays their characters very honestly and brings a certain silliness to every character that makes the series at least mildly amusing to watch.

Overall, How I Met Your Father Season 2 dropped the ball on making a great comedy series even with all of its advantages including a memorable IP and a great cast. If you just want to watch something that can run in the background while you scroll your IG, this Hulu sitcom is perfect for that.
