Horror fans might be happy to hear that the psycho doll ‘M3GAN‘ is getting a sequel as it is the first hit of the new year. The brilliant news comes from Deadline, saying that Blumhouse is hard at work developing M3GAN 2. While there is no word on who the director will be for the upcoming film or if Gerard Johnstone will be returning to the director’s chair. We also don’t know if any of the cast members will be returning to reprise their roles.
M3GAN is a sci-fi horror film with M3GAN being a top-notch A.I. outfitted in a doll, which can listen, learn, protect, and teach, in short, a child’s greatest friend. When the brilliant roboticist behind the project has to take care of her 8-year-old niece she gives her M3GAN as a friend. But what comes next could not have been expected by anyone.
The film stars Kimberly Crossman, Amie Donald, Jenna Davis as M3GAN, Allison Williams (Get Out) as Gemma, Violet McGraw, Jen Brown as Tess, Ronny Chieng as David, and Arlo Green as Ryan.
M3GAN premiered in theaters on January 6 breaking all expectations as it earned more than $30 million domestically and at the worldwide box office it earned more than $45 million in only one weekend.
