2024 is over, and while it had some great movies like Dune: Part Two and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, they are nothing compared to what we have coming in 2025. From the first DC Studios film, Superman, to maybe the final Mission: Impossible film in which Tom Cruise will once again put his life in danger to entertain the heck out of us. So, let’s find out which of the movies that are coming in 2025 are the most anticipated.
Captain America: Brave New World (February 14)
Captain America: Brave New World is an upcoming superhero action thriller film directed by Julius Onah, who also co-wrote the film with Peter Glanz and Matthew Orton. Based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, the upcoming film will be the fourth installment in the Captain America film series. It follows Sam Wilson’s Captain America as he finds himself embroiled in a dangerous international conspiracy involving President Thaddeus Ross. Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Giancarlo Esposito, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford.
Mickey 17 (March 7)
Mickey 17 is an upcoming sci-fi action adventure dark comedy film written and directed by Bong Joon-ho. Based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, the upcoming film is set in a dystopian future and it follows Mickey Barnes, a young man who wants to get off Earth, and to achieve that he signs up as an “expendable”. An “expendable” is a disposable employee who can be regenerated with most of his memories still intact after the previous iteration dies. Mickey 17 stars Robert Pattinson, Naomie Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.
Black Bag (March 14)
Black Bag is an upcoming spy thriller series directed by Steven Soderbergh from a screenplay by David Koepp. The upcoming film follows intelligence agent George Woodhouse as he discovers that his wife is being accused of traitorous activities. Now he must make the choice of who he wants to be loyal to his wife or his nation. Black Bag stars Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Pierce Brosnan, and Tom Burke.
Novocaine (March 14)
Novocaine is an upcoming action thriller comedy film co-directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen from a screenplay by Lars Jacobson. The upcoming film follows Nathan Caine, a mild-mannered young man with a rare disease that renders him unable to feel any pain. When his girlfriend is taken hostage in a bank robbery, he goes on a very brutal and often hilarious rescue mission. Novocaine stars Jack Quaid, Amber Midthunder, Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon, Betty Gabriel, and Matt Walsh.
Thunderbolts* (May 2)
Thunderbolts* is an upcoming superhero action thriller film directed by Jake Schreier from a screenplay co-written by Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo. Based on the Marvel Comics of the same name by Kart Busiek and Mark Bagley, the upcoming MCU film revolves around a group of antiheroes from past Marvel Studios’ films as they team up to go on covert missions for the American government. Thunderbolts* stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, Wendell Edward Pierce, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (May 23)
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is an upcoming spy action adventure film directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Jendresen. The upcoming film is the eighth and maybe final installment in the Mission: Impossible film franchise. It once again follows Ethan Hunt as he goes on a globe-trotting quest to destroy the dangerous rogue A.I. known as Entity. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Angela Bassett, and Henry Czerny.
Karate Kid: Legends (May 30)
Karate Kid: Legends is an upcoming martial arts drama film directed by Jonathan Entwistle from a screenplay by Rob Lieber. Based on The Karate Kid film franchise, the upcoming film is set three years after the events of the final season of Cobra Kai, and it follows kung fu prodigy Li Fong as he moves to New York with his mother and soon enters a karate competition, but to prepare for it he needs some help, and that’s where Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso come in. Karate Kid: Legends stars Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen.
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina (June 6)
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, aka Ballerina, is an upcoming neo-noir action thriller film directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay by Shay Hatten. The upcoming is a spin-off of the John Wick films, and it is set between the events of Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4. It follows Eve Macarro, a ballerina-assassin, as she trains with the Ruska Roma to get revenge on the people responsible for her father’s death. Ballerina stars Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves.
28 Years Later (June 20)
28 Years Later is an upcoming post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle from a screenplay by Alex Garland. The upcoming threequel film is set nearly 28 years after the rage virus escaped from a biological weapons laboratory and it revolves around a group of survivors as they fight against some mutated zombies. 28 Years Later stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, and Edvin Ryding.
F1 (June 27)
F1 is an upcoming sports action drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger. The upcoming film follows Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who had a horrible accident in the 1990s. He is called back into action to mentor a rookie prodigy for the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP). F1 stars Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Javier Bardem, Kim Bodnia, Shea Whigham, Joseph Balderrama, Sarah Niles, Samson Kayo, and Callie Cooke.
M3GAN 2.0 (June 27)
M3GAN 2.0 is an upcoming sci-fi horror film directed by Gerald Johnstone from a screenplay by Akela Cooper. The upcoming sequel film’s plot is still under wraps as M3GAN turns from a successful sci-fi horror flick to a full-fledged cinematic universe, which will soon add an erotic thriller titled SOULM8TE to its world. M3GAN 2.0 stars Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Amie Donald, Jenna Davis, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Ivanna Sakhno, Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari, and Jemaine Clement.

Based on Marvel Comics of the same name by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the upcoming MCU film is set in a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic world, and it follows Marvel Universe’s first family as they defend their world from Galactus.
