2024 is nearly over and while we saw the release of many brilliant films that were also hit at the box office, many movies flew under the radar of people’s view. While some movies like Dune: Part Two and Inside Out 2 were extremely popular at the box office and amongst critics, other great movies like The Fall Guy and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga were not as lucky. So, we thought of compiling a list consisting of the best movies that were released in 2024 that you might not have seen yet.
Late Night with the Devil (Hulu, AMC+ & Rent on Prime Video)
Late Night with the Devil is a supernatural horror thriller drama film written and directed by Colin and Cameron Cairnes. The 2024 film is set in the year 1977 and it follows a late-night talk show host who decides to host an allegedly possessed girl onto the show, but the broadcast goes horribly wrong and unleashes something sinister into the nation’s living rooms. Blink Twice (MGM+ & Rent on Prime Video)
Blink Twice is a psychological mystery thriller drama film directed by Zoë Kravitz who also co-wrote the screenplay with E.T. Feigenbaum. The 2024 film follows Frida, a young woman who gets invited by tech billionaire Slater King to his private island while working as a cocktail waitress. Soon, after getting there she begins to think that she is forgetting something important and something sinister is going on. Blink Twice stars Naomi Ackie, Channing Tatum, Christian Slater, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Kyle MacLachlan, Haley Joel Osment, Geena Davis, and Alia Shawkat.
Love Lies Bleeding (Max & Rent on Prime Video)
Love Lies Bleeding is a surreal romantic thriller drama film directed by Rose Glass who also co-wrote the screenplay with Weronika Tofilska. The 2024 film is set in 1989 and it follows Lou, a reclusive gym manager, and Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder who fall in love with each other but they soon get embroiled in the dangerous world of organized crime. Love Lies Bleeding stars Kristen Stewart, Katy O’Brian, Jena Malone, Anna Baryshnikov, Dave Franco, and Ed Harris.
Monkey Man (Prime Video)
Monkey Man is an action thriller drama film directed by Dev Patel who also co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Angunawela and John Collee. The 2024 film follows a young living in an underground fight club who soon infiltrates the hotel of the city’s sinister elite as a waiter to get his revenge against the people who killed his mother in his childhood. Monkey Man stars Patel, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Sikander Kher, Adithi Kalkunte, and Zakir Hussain.
The Fall Guy (Peacock & Rent on Prime Video)
The Fall Guy is an action romantic comedy film directed by David Leitch from a screenplay by Drew Pearce. Based on the 1980s TV series of the same name by Glen A. Larson, the 2024 film follows Colt Seavers, a stuntman who is called back into action one year after a big accident that left him depressed and cut off from the people he loves. The Fall Guy stars Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, Teresa Palmer, Stephanie Hsu, and Winston Duke.

Snack Shack is a coming-of-age comedy film written and directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier. The 2024 film is set in the summer of 1991 and it follows two best friends AJ and Moose who decide to run the local pool’s rundown snack shack to make some money but their plans soon change when they meet a cool lifeguard, Brooke. Snack Shack stars Conor Sherry, Gabriel LaBelle, Mike Abdalla, David Costabile, and Nick Robinson.
The Bikeriders (Peacock & Rent on Prime Video)
The Bikeriders is a crime drama film written and directed by Jeff Nichols. Based on the photo book of the same name by Danny Lyon, the 2024 film is set in the 1960s and it follows a Midwestern motorcycle club that went from a gathering place for local outsiders to a sinister gang over the course of a decade. The Bikeriders stars Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon, Mike Faist, and Norman Reedus.

Saturday Night is a biographical comedy-drama film directed by Jason Reitman who also co-wrote the screenplay by Gil Kenan. Based on the origins of the popular NBC series Saturday Night Live, the 2024 film revolves around all the chaos, drama, and comedy that was taking place 90 minutes before the first broadcast of Saturday Night (later known as Saturday Night Live). The 2024 film serves as a prequel film to the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road and it follows Furiosa, who was taken at a young age from the Green Place of Many Mothers and soon gets caught in a war between two tyrannical warlords. Boy Kills World is a dystopian action comedy film directed by Moritz Mohr from a screenplay co-written by Tyler Burton Smith and Arend Remmers. The 2024 film is set in a dystopian world and it follows Boy, a young man who has been training his whole to get revenge against the all-powerful Van Der Koy family who killed his family. The 2024 film is the third installment in West’s X film series it is set in the 1980s and it follows Maxine as she sets out to achieve fame and success in Hollywood but she soon realizes that she is the new target of a mysterious serial killer. Juror #2 is a legal thriller drama film directed by Clint Eastwood from a screenplay by Jonathan Abrams. The 2024 film follows a man serving as a member of the jury of a high-profile murder trial and soon realizes that the man accused of committing the murder is not the real culprit but can’t tell the truth without destroying his own life. The Substance is a satirical sci-fi body horror film written and directed by Coralie Fargeat. The 2024 film follows an aging celebrity who turns to a black market drug which creates a much younger version of herself to get back her fame, but the drug has some unexpected side effects.
