While, Netflix has made a name for itself by canceling our favorite shows like I Am Not Okay With This and The Order, the streaming service still serves as one of the biggest content machines on the planet. That’s why when a series clicks with the audience Netflix has to renew it so let’s check out the lucky names of the shows that have been given the green light for future seasons in 2024.

Survival of the Thickest Season 2

Survival of the Thickest is a comedy-drama series created by Michelle Buteau and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel. Based on Buteau’s memoir of the same name, the Netflix series follows the story of a recently single plus-sized woman as he tries to rebuild her life while struggling as a stylist. Survival of the Thickest came out with its first on the streamer in July 2023 and nearly seven months later Netflix announced that the comedy-drama series will be returning for Season 2 in February 2024.

Berlin Season 2

The expectations for Berlin were sky-high after the phenomenal five-season run of Money Heist and while the prequel series wasn’t exactly a critical darling, it was entertaining enough for the audience to warrant a second season. Created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, the Spanish crime thriller series is set many years before the events of Money Heist and follows the story of Berlin. The Money Heist prequel series came out on Netflix with its first season on December 29, 2023, and then in February 2024 the streamer gave it the green light for a second season.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 & 3

Avatar: The Last Airbender could have been a huge disaster like Netflix’s Death Note but after the super hit anime adaptation One Piece, the fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender’s animated series were a little hopeful and while the Netflix series didn’t blow anyone away it did kind of stuck the landing. Created by Albert Kim, Avatar: The Last Airbender came out on Netflix with its first season on February 22, 2024, and then in March we got a video from Netflix featuring the cast of the series announcing that the fantasy adventure series has been renewed for two more seasons to complete its story.

Maestro in Blue Season 2 & 3

Maestro in Blue is a Greek drama series that came out on the Mega Channel with its first season in Greece and then Netflix acquired the series to release globally in 2023. After the series premiered on Netflix, it proved to be a big hit for the streamer and it was renewed for 10 more episodes, the first six of which will make up Season 2, and the last four episodes will be labeled as Season 3. Season 2 came out on Netflix on May 16, 2024, and Season 3 is all set to premiere on the streaming service in Autumn 2024.

The Witcher Season 5

This is the final nail in the coffin of a once-promising IP that could have done wonders for Netflix. Based on a novel series of the same name by the brilliant writer Andrzej Sapkowski, the Netflix series titled The Witcher became one of the biggest names with its nearly perfect Season 1, and then it all went downhill from a bad Season 2 to an even worse Season 3. Then Henry Cavill left the series and fans just checked out. While Netflix is still trying to salvage the goodwill that is still left for this series by replacing Cavill with Liam Hemsworth as the title character and renewing the series for a fifth and final season before Season 4 even premiers, we have to say that if it was in the hands of another creator The Witcher could have been Netflix’s Game of Thrones.

3 Body Problem Season 2

3 Body Problem was one of the most anticipated shows of the year and the fans were happy when it didn’t disappoint. Based on a Chinese novel series of the same name by author Liu Cixin, the Netflix series created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones) came out on the streaming service on March 21, 2024, and then on May 15 we got the renewal but there were some misunderstandings because of the words chosen by Netflix. The streamer said that the series will be renewed for additional episodes to wrap up the story, leaving the fans worried that the series will have 3 to 4 episodes to cover two novels but soon after that the creators clarified that they have talked with Netflix and they have a deal for seasons, not one but plural. So, let’s get ready for an alien invasion in 3 Body Problem Season 2.

Tires Season 2

Tires is a comedy series created by and starring Shane Gillis. The popular stand-up comedian self-financed the six-episode first season before Netflix acquired the series and gave him a special. While the streamer didn’t do a good job at promoting the series, Tires still won the hearts of millions of people because of its hilarious jokes and comedic characters. Tires’ entire first season came out on the streamer on May 23 and two days before its premiere Netflix had announced that the series would be coming back for a Season 2.
