Netflix has revealed the first episode’s title and logo for their upcoming One Piece live-action adaptation series. Netflix Geeked shared two tweets about the production of the series, making it the latest official news since the announcement of the series back in January 2020, the delay in updates about the series came because the series’ production was put on hold during the pandemic.
Not much about the upcoming live-action adaptation has been revealed other than a photo of the first episode’s completed script which is titled “Romance Dawn.” The second tweet revealed the logo for the series and a caption saying: “no matter how hard or how impossible it is, never lose sight of your goal.” We still don’t know when the series will hit Netflix, or who is in it, or who is making it. The only information provided was that the show’s first episode will be written by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda who will also serve as showrunners on the ten-episode series.
Since mangaka Eiichiro Oda‘s One Piece series debuted in 1997, the manga series has been considered one of the most popular manga series in history. Then the manga series was adapted into an anime by Toei Animation in 1999 and it has been going on for 20 seasons, 14 films, a series of light novels, and multiple video games.
The story follows Luffy, who is inspired by his childhood idol “Red-Haired” Shanks and he makes his own crew and names them Straw Hat, and together they go out on an adventure to find the One Piece treasure which will make the King of the Pirates.
