Max is ready with an entertainment-packed January next year. The upcoming month will see the return of some of Max’s brilliant original adult animated superhero dark comedy-drama series Harley Quinn, and also a new original medical drama series The Pitt. Just like every month, Max is ready to overload you with great content. So, we’re here to tell you about the 5 new movies and TV shows coming to Max in January 2025.
The Front Room (January 3)
The Front Room is a psychological horror drama film written and directed by Max and Sam Eggers. Based on the 2016 short story of the same name by Susan Hill, the 2024 film follows Belinda, a newly pregnant young woman whose mother-in-law suddenly moves in with them and tries to get control over the unborn child, and now it’s up to Belinda to create boundaries. The Front Room stars Brandy, Andrew Burnap, Neal Huff, and Kathryn Hunter.
The Pitt Season 1 (January 9)
The Pitt is an upcoming medical drama series created by R. Scott Gemmill. The Max series is set in the emergency room at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital and it follows the medical staff through their 15-hour shift. The Pitt stars Noah Wyle, Tracy Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Katherine LaNasa.
Harley Quinn Season 5 (January 16)
Harley Quinn is an adult animated superhero dark comedy-drama series created by Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey. Based on the DC Comics characters of the same name by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, the upcoming fifth season of the Max series continues the story of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy as they leave the hellscape that is Gotham and move to Metropolis. Harley Quinn’s voice cast includes Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, Tony Hale, and Jason Alexander.
A Different Man (January 17)
A Different Man is a dark comedy psychological thriller film written and directed by Aaron Schimberg. The 2024 film follows a struggling actor neurofibromatosis who goes through a radical medical procedure to get his dream face but he soon becomes obsessed with getting back what he lost. A Different Man stars Sebastian Stan, Renate Reinsve, Adam Pearson, C. Mason Wells, Owen Kline, Charlie Korsmo, Patrick Wang, and Michael Shannon.
Strike Season 6 (January 23)
Strike is a British crime drama series created by Ben Richards and Tom Edge. Based on the Cormoran Strike novel series by J.K. Rowling, the upcoming sixth season of the BBC One series will once again follow private detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott as they take on a new mystery. Strike stars Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger in the lead roles.
