Rob Peace (November 11)
Rob Peace is a biographical drama film written and directed by Chiwetel Ejiofor. Based on the 2014 biography The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace by Jeff Hobbs, the 2024 film follows Rob Peace, a Yale University graduate who begins to deal drugs while maintaining his lifestyle after his father was arrested for crimes he may not have committed. Rob Peace stars Jay Will, Ejiofor, Mary J. Blige, Camila Cabello, Michael Kelly, and Curtis Morlaye.
Emilia Pérez (November 13)
Emilia Pérez is a French musical crime drama film written and directed by Jacques Audiard. Based on the Audiard’s opera libretto of the same name, which was in turn based on the 2018 novel Écoute by Boris Razon, the upcoming film follows the fearsome cartel leader Emilia who recruits Rita, a lawyer to help fake her death so that Emilia can live her life happily. Emilia Pérez stars Zoe Saldana, Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez, Mark Ivanir, Édgar Ramírez, and James Gerard.
Hot Frosty (November 13)
Hot Frosty is an upcoming Christmas fantasy romantic comedy film directed by Jerry Ciccoritti from a screenplay by Russell Hainline. The Netflix film follows a lonely widow who comes across a magical snowman brought to life. Hot Frosty stars Lacey Chabert, Dustin Milligan, Katy Mixon, Joe Lo Truglio, Craig Robinson, and Chrishell Stause.
Close to You (November 16)
Close to You is a drama film written and directed by Dominic Savage. The 2024 film follows Sam, a trans man on his way to his hometown for a family reunion. On his way back home he confronts his relationship with his family, first love, and gathers a newfound confidence in himself. Close to You stars Elliot Page in the lead role Hillary Baack, Peter Outerbridge, Wendy Crewson, and Janet Porter starring in supporting roles.
Widow Clicquot (November 16)
Widow Clicquot is a drama film directed by Thomas Napper from a screenplay by Erin Dignam. Based on the book of the same name by Tilar Mazzeo, the 2024 film follows the story of the woman who was behind the creation of the Veuve Clicquot champagne dynasty, which started in the late 1700s in France. Widow Clicquot stars Haley Bennett in the lead role with Tom Sturridge, Sam Riley, Anson Boon, Leo Suter, Ben Miles, Natasha O’Keefe, and Paul Rhys starring in supporting roles.
The Merry Gentlemen (November 20)
The Merry Gentlemen is an upcoming Christmas romantic comedy film directed by Peter Sullivan who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeffrey Schenck and Marla Sokoloff. The Netflix film is set in a small town and it follows a former big-city dancer who decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue to save her parents’ venue. The Piano Lesson (November 22)
The Piano Lesson is an upcoming drama film directed by Malcolm Washington who also co-wrote the screenplay with Virgin Williams. Based on the 1987 play of the same name by August Wilson, the Netflix film is set in 1936 in Pittsburgh during the aftermath of the Great Depression and it follows the Charles family who possess a piano with designs carved by an enslaved ancestor. The Piano Lesson stars Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, Ray Fisher, Michael Potts, Erykah Badu, Skylar Aleece Smith, Danielle Deadwyler, and Corey Hawkins.
Our Little Secret (November 27)
