Apple TV+ entered into the streaming game pretty late but because of the quality of their originals, they are quickly becoming everybody’s favorite. After the success of shows like Ted Lasso and Slow Horses, the Apple-owned streaming service is showing no signs of slowing down and releases new brilliant TV shows and movies every month to expand its impressive content library. So, here are the best new movies and shows coming on Apple TV+ in June 2024.
Presumed Innocent Season 1 (June 12)
Presumed Innocent is a legal drama miniseries created by David E. Kelley. Based on a 1987 novel of the same name by Scott Turow, the Apple TV+ series follows the story of a prosecutor with a picture-perfect life who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of one of his colleagues. Presumed Innocent stars Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role with Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, Chase Infiniti, Lily Rabe, Nana Mensah, Matthew Aland, and Kingston Rumi Southwick starring in supporting roles.
Land of Women Season 1 (June 26)
Land of Women is a comedy-drama series created by Ramón Campos. Inspired by a 2014 book titled La Tierra de las Mujeres aka Land of Women by author Sandra Barneda, the Apple TV+ series follows the story of Gala, a New York woman whose life turns upside down when she finds out that her husband owes some very dangerous people money and they are coming after them. When her husband vanishes, Gala escapes to a small charming wine town in northern Spain with her mother and college-age daughter. She later finds out that her mother fled from the village 50 years ago vowing never to return. Land of Women stars Eva Longoria in the lead role with Carmen Maura, Santiago Cabrera, Gloria Muñoz, Victoria Bazua, and Amaury Nolasco starring in supporting roles.
WondLa Season 1 (June 28)
WondLa is an animated sci-fi fantasy series created by Bobs Gannaway. Based on a 2010 novel titled The Search for WondLa by author Tony DiTerlizzi, the Apple TV+ series follows the story of Eva, an ordinary teenager who is being raised by robots in a state-of-the-art underground bunker. On her 16th birthday Eva goes to the surface and what she finds is a place inhabited by aliens that is no longer Earth. After seeing all this Eva goes on a quest with a giant tardigrade and a cantankerous alien to find other humans. WondLa’s voice cast includes Jeanine Mason, Teri Hatcher, Brad Garrett, Gary Anthony Williams, Chiké Okonkwo, D.C. Douglas, and Alan Tudyk.
Fancy Dance (June 28)
Fancy Dance is a drama film directed by Erica Tremblay from a screenplay co-written by Tremblay and Miciana Alise. The Apple TV+ film follows the story of Jax, a young woman who has been taking care of her niece on the Seneca–Cayuga Nation Reservation after her sister suddenly disappeared. Now, Jax has to find her sister before an upcoming powwow because if she doesn’t she will lose the custody of her niece. So both Jax and her niece hit the road to track down Jax’s sister. Fancy Dance stars Lily Gladstone and Isabel DeRoy-Olson in the lead roles with Shea Whigham, Audrey Wasilewski, Ryan Begay, Crystyle Lightning, and Dennis Newman starring in supporting roles.
