Netflix has finally revealed the trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular One Piece manga by Eiichiro Oda. During their fan Event TUDUM, Netflix revealed the first trailer and release date for One Piece, and with this new trailer being released on One Piece Day, the fans seem to be pretty excited about the upcoming live-action series (which is usually not the case for anime turned live-action shows).
The story of One Piece follows Luffy, who is inspired by his childhood idol “Red-Haired” Shanks he makes his own crew and names them Straw Hat, and together they go out on an adventure to find the One Piece treasure which will make the King of the Pirates.
The trailer instantly tells us what the series will be about with the legendary pirate king Gold Roger saying that his massive treasure known as One Piece is out there and waiting for anyone, who is able to find it. This declaration by pirate king Gold Roger becomes the main motive for our stretchy protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, who wants to go to the most dangerous part of the sea known as the Grand Line, because he thinks that is where One Piece is hidden.
The cast of One Piece includes Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Peter Gadiot as Shanks, Jacob Gibson Romero as Usopp, Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Steven Ward as Dracule Mihawk, McKinley Belcher as Arlong, and Morgan Davies as Koby.
One Piece is all set to hit Netflix on August 31. Check out the new trailer, official synopsis, and new images below:
