The first image of HBO Max’s upcoming series Peacemaker has been revealed by Entertainment Weekly. The series is a spin-off of James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad film. The first look image shows John Cena back in his Peacemaker costume surrounded by a team of old and new faces.
The image shows A.R.G.U.S. agents Economos (Steve Agee) and Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) in a meeting with Peacemaker and the team is sitting in an abandoned store with signs announcing sales plastered against the window. The new faces in the image are Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), Adebayo (Danielle Brooks), and Vigilante (Freddie Stroma).
There is not much known about the plot of the upcoming DC series except that the new character created for the show is Murn, who is a mercenary working under Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), and Adebayo, who will develop an unexpected friendship with the criminal vigilante. However, until a trailer is released there is not much we can say on what threat will Peacemaker face off.
The peacemaker series is created by Gunn while he was in the post-production of The Suicide Squad. The series will consist of eight episodes and it will follow Peacemaker. The series was written by Gunn and he also directed five of the episodes. Peacemaker will premiere on HBO Max in January 2022.
