Reacher is back, and this time, he finally has someone of his own size to fight with. The action crime thriller drama series has been great from the get-go, and Season 3 doesn’t shy away from giving the fans exactly what they want.
Created by Nick Santora, the latest season of Reacher is based on Lee Child‘s 2003 novel Persuader, and it follows Jack Reacher as he goes undercover in a dangerous crime syndicate to find a DEA informant who went missing. He also tried to settle an old score with someone from his Army days.
From the very first season, fans of the Prime Video series have loved both the bloody action sequences and detective drama. Both are extremely compelling in Season 3, but where this season falters a bit is not giving us anything new, which isn’t a bad thing as we are getting top-notch entertainment. Still, it does mean that in the future, it will run the risk of making people tired of seeing the same old tropes.

With my single nitpick about Season 3 out of the way, I have to tell you how much I love Season 3 because it had almost everything I wanted to see in the series. From sudden and brutal kills to compelling mysteries that Reacher has to solve, what I loved most about this season was how the creators put Reacher in a situation where we could actually feel that Reacher might not make it out this time.
Alan Ritchson is basically on cruise control when it comes to playing Reacher, and that’s my way of saying that he is brilliant in the role. Maria Sten is also great as Frances Neagley, and while I love almost every addition, from Sonya Cassidy‘s DEA agent Susan Duffy to Anthony Michael Hall‘s Beck, I felt that Brian Tee‘s character was a bit disappointing and a little bit underdeveloped. Now lets get to the man of the hour, Olivier Richters‘ Paulie, he’s big, burly, and threatening, which makes him a great antagonist to Reacher physically and watching the tow of them fight was incredibly satisfying.
In conclusion, Reacher Season 3 has everything you love about the series, and while it could have tried something new, that doesn’t matter because what we got is pretty damn entertaining. After seeing the whole season, I could safely say that the fans of the series will no doubt love what the creators have done with Lee Child’s Persuader.
