Legendary actor George Segal passed away at the age of 87.
The Oscar-nominated actor for his outstanding work in ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf’ passed away on Thursday at the age of 87, due to complications during surgery. The prolific actor’s career spanned over six decades in Hollywood, acting in wonderful films and series like ‘The Goldbergs’, ‘Just Shoot Me’, ‘The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox’, and ‘Fun with Dick and Jane.’
Sonia Segal wife of the late George Segal said in a statement provided by Sony Television:
“The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery.”
In 2013 Adam F. Goldberg cast Segal as the Jewish Family head Albert “Pops” Solomon in the renowned TV series The Goldbergs, he said in the tweet on Segal’s passing;
His agent Abe Hoch described Segal as his close friend and client. He said to Sony Television:
“I will miss his warmth, humor, camaraderie and friendship. He was a wonderful human“
World lost a legend and we will all surely miss him.
