Officially confirmed by Rob Zombie himself that the next movie created under his banner will be a brand new take on the classic sitcom “The Munsters”, Rob Zombie will also direct the film.
The Munsters is a classic sitcom that aired from 1964 to 1966 for 70 episodes, while it didn’t have a long run, the characters and the storylines were loved by the fans.
The series followed the family living on 1313 Mockingbird Lane, but the family was a bit different from the others, the father looked like the Frankenstein’s monster, the mother and her father were vampires, and their son Eddie was a werewolf, but the odd one out in the family was their niece Marilyn who was just a normal human.
Zombie wrote this on his Instagram yesterday while confirming the film, “Attention Boils and Ghouls! The rumors are true! My next film project will be the one I’ve been chasing for 20 years! THE MUNSTERS!,” he added “Stay tuned for exciting details as things progress!”
The Munsters Film – Cast?
While there has been nothing officially confirmed on the casting of the film, Murphy’s Multiverse recently broke the news about some of the cast of the film, and the cast according to the report is:
Actor | Role |
---|---|
Sheri Moon Zombie | Lily Munster |
Jeff Daniel Phillips | Herman Munster |
Richard Brake | TBA |
Dan Roebuck | TBA |
Jorge Garcia | TBA |
Cassandra (Elvira) Peterson | TBA |
Rob Zombie is a massive fan of “The Munsters” (the series is currently streaming on Peacock), and that’s why he wrote the film and will also direct it. Zombie recently joined “The Munsters” Butch Patrick for a commentary track for the film Munster, Go Home, which was released on Blu-Ray by Scream Factory last year.
There are also rumors that Ron Zombie’s The Munsters, can be a Peacock Original film but nothing has been officially confirmed by either parties so we should take this part of news with a grain of salt.
