One of the buzziest shows of recent times has to be Apple TV+’s sci-fi psychological thriller series Severance, which came out with its initial season all the way back in 2022. Fans have been restlessly waiting for the second season to come out. They can finally stop waiting because the streaming service has finally revealed the release date for the highly anticipated Season 2, which is coming out next year in January.

Created by Dan Erickson, Severance follows the story of Mark, who leads a team of office workers at the biotechnology corporation Lumon Industries. Mark and his colleagues had their memories surgically divided between their work and personal lives. Things start going haywire when an ex-colleague approaches Mark outside. He is forced to go on a journey to find out what they actually do at Lumon Industries.

The official logline for Severance Season 2 by Apple TV+ says, “Mark (Adam Scott) and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.”

Severance Season 2 will see the return of Adam Scott in the lead role of Mark with Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken also returning to reprise their respective roles. The upcoming season will also feature some new faces to the series including Alia Shawkat (Search Party), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Merritt Weaver (Run), Bob Balaban (Condor), Robby Benson (Ice Castles), Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia), John Noble (Fringe), and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist).
