We have learned that Netflix’s upcoming fantasy series Shadow and Bone has been renewed silently behind the scenes for a second season before Shadow and Bone Season 1 has even aired. Shadow and Bone are created for Netflix by Eric Heisserer.
The source has previously been known for renewal reports on Ozark, Fate: The Winx Club, and Warrior Nun all of which have been true and confirmed by Netflix. Other shows that we have exclusively announced renewals of include Ozark, and Locke & Key.
The series is based on the Grisha trilogy beginning with Shadow and Bone and then the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo.
The Shadow and Bone series centers on teenager Alina Starkov, an orphan who grew up in Ravka (a Russia-inspired city), and then her entire life changes as she harnesses a power that she never knew she had to save her best friend.
Shadow and Bone Season 2 – Will it be the Final Season?
We don’t yet if Shadow and Bone Season 2 will be the final outing from the series. However, an early renewal like this shows Netflix is trusting Shadow and Bones to do big things and you don’t give up on big things just after two seasons. All of the doubts will be cleared after the release of Shadow and Bone Season 1 on April 23, 2021.
Note: We should note that Shadow and Bone Season 2 is not officially announced yet, the renewal announcement is likely to come out after some time of the premiere of the first season.
It is not uncommon for Netflix to renew some series before their first season has even aired like Netflix renewed Bridgerton for a second season long before the first season even aired.
