‘Shadow and Bone’ Season 2 to Reportedly Begin Filming in January 2022

Netflix’s hit fantasy series Shadow and Bone is coming back with a second season but it won’t begin filming until early 2022, with the production on the series currently slated to start in January 2022. Shadow and Bone premiere on the streaming giant in April of 2021, and went on to become a big hit for the streaming service.

The fantasy series was officially renewed for a second season in June 2021, but since then there is no word on where the production on the series is heading. So far the only details known about Season 2 are that it will adapt the second book Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. It’ll have eight episodes and Eric Heisserer will be returning as the writer and showrunner on the series.

According to What’s on Netflix, filming will begin on Season 2 in January of 2022, and it will take place once again in Budapest and the filming on Season 2 will end in July of the same year. Previous reports had stated that filming will commence in November but has been no announcement yet. So, it’s safe to say that it will not start this month.

Shadow and Bone stars Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov, Archie Renaux as Malyen Oretsev, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Amita Suman as Inej, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey, and Ben Barnes as General Kirigan.

There is no news on when the second season of Shadow and Bone will be premiering on Netflix.
