Sony and Marvel are planning three more Spider-Man films with Tom Holland returning as the web-slinger. The news was confirmed by the producer Amy Pascal, who was an integral part of the negotiations between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, and now she has confirmed that Spider-Man: No Way Home will not be the last Sony and Marvel collaboration and Tom Holland will be returning in the role of Spider-Man in the MCU.
During an interview with Fandango, Pascal said that Spider-Man will continue to be in the MCU. Read the full quote below:
“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie. We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel, it just isn’t part of… we’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home is just a couple of weeks from its much-anticipated release on December 17 and some time ago Holland commented that he wanted to stop playing the role of Spider-Man, but as it happens that for some more time he will be staying in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Read what Pascal said about the Sony and Marvel collaboration below:
“Spider-Man is always very special and different from everything else, but I think the beautiful thing is you had two big corporations that decided to work together for the good of the story and the character, and I don’t think that’s always the spirit that you see. Yeah, working together and helping each other make things be better is a good model.”
