The Housemaid is an upcoming thriller drama film directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay by Rebecca Sonnenshine. Based on the 2022 novel of the same name by Freida McFadden, the upcoming film follows the story of Millie, a young woman who takes up the job of a housemaid for a wealthy young couple. Still, Millie’s supposed fresh start takes a dangerous turn when she learns some secrets that she wasn’t supposed to know. The Housemaid stars Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar, and Michele Morrone. Production of The Housemaid began on January 3, 2025 and it is supposed to wrap by February 14, 2025.
Eden (TBA)
Eden is an upcoming survival thriller drama film directed by Ron Howard from a screenplay by Noah Pink. The upcoming film is loosely based on a true story, and it revolves around a group of people who leave their Earthy possessions behind and head to a little Galapagos island to bring some change into their lives, but their supposed paradise soon takes a dark turn, forcing them to fight for their survival. Eden stars Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Sydney Sweeney, Jude Law, Daniel Brühl, Felix Kammerer, Toby Wallace, and Richard Roxburgh. Eden began filming on November 27, 2023, and it wrapped up on February 14, 2024.
Echo Valley (TBA)
Echo Valley is an upcoming thriller drama film directed by Michael Pearce from a screenplay by Brad Ingelsby. The upcoming Apple TV+ film follows Kate Garrett, who works as a horse trainer on her southern Pennsylvania farm. When one night, Kate’s daughter comes home covered in somebody else’s blood, Kate has to decide how far she is willing to go to protect her daughter. Echo Valley stars Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney, Domhnall Gleeson, Kyle MacLachlan, Fiona Shaw, Edmund Donovan, and Rebecca Creskoff. Echo Valley’s filming began in May 2023 in Hunterdon County and Morris County and ended in June 2023.
Untitled Christy Martin film (TBA)
The Christy Martin film is an upcoming biographical sports drama film directed by David Michôd, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Mirrah Foulkes. Based on the life of former professional boxer Christy Martin, the upcoming film will revolve around Martin’s rise to becoming one of most popular female boxers in the 1990s and the attempted murder of her by her husband in 2010. Sydney Sweeney will star in the lead role of Christy Martin, with Ben Foster, Merritt Weaver, Katy O’Brian, Ethan Embry, Jess Gabor, Chad L. Coleman, and Tony Cavalero starring in supporting roles. Filming on the film began in September 2024 and wrapped up on November 15, 2024.
Euphoria Season 3 (TBA)
Euphoria is a psychological teen drama series created by Sam Levinson. The upcoming Season 3 of the HBO series is one of the most anticipated Seasons out of any shows currently on air. Season 2 came out in 2022, and even after two years, we still don’t have fixed filming dates. Season 3 was supposed to come out in 2025, but HBO now hints at a 2026 release. Euphoria’s main cast, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Jacob Elordi, are supposed to return for Season 3.
Scandalous! (TBA)
Scandalous! is an upcoming period romantic drama film directed by Colman Domingo from a screenplay by Matthew Fantaci. Based on the short-lived 1957 love affair between Hollywood’s most iconic blondes, Kim Novak and Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr., the upcoming film will supposedly revolve around their initial meeting in 1956 on The Steve Allen Show and their whirlwind romance to the eventual fallout. Scandalous! stars Sydney Sweeney and David Jonsson in the lead roles. It is set to begin filming in 2025 after both Domingo and Sweeney are done with filming Euphoria Season 3.
Barbarella (TBA)
Barbarella is an upcoming sci-fi action adventure film. Based on the controversial erotic comic of the same name, which was previously adapted in a 1968 film starring Jane Fonda, the upcoming will see Sydney Sweeney in the lead role of Barbarella. While no director or writer has been confirmed for the film, it is reported that Sony has approached Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Baby Driver’s director Edgar Wright for the job. Wright reportedly helped in the early development of the film but hasn’t committed to directing the movie yet. Barbarella is still a ways away as Sweeney’s 2025 schedule is looking a little, and even though the filming for Barbarella wrapped up this year, the effect-heavy film will need a significant amount of time for post-production.
