Prime Video’s mega-hit series The Boys star Jack Quaid who plays the role of Hughie Campbell, just revealed that Season 3 of The Boys will be even more messed up than the already pretty brutal previous seasons. The Boys is a dark superhero comedy series that asks the question would superheroes be good if they were real, it also answers it and that is they would not be good people and definitely not good superheroes. The Boys season is set to premiere on Prime Video on June 3. The third season will have eight episodes in total just like the previous seasons, and the episodes will be airing weekly. The third season of the series will also be adding Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy.
The Boys is based on the comic book series of the same name created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and it follows a group of vigilantes named The Boys, who do everything can to take down bad supes (superpowered people), who hurt normal people. The Boys is definitely known for its gory action sequences and graphic nudity scenes, which is a fresh breath from all of the family-friendly superhero movies and shows out there. The Boys is a pretty fun and raunchy ride that makes the audience wonder if this is really what it would be like to have superheroes in their real life.
During an interview with TheWrap about his latest film Scream, Quaid also talked about the upcoming third season of The Boys and he said that this season is like nothing he has done before. He also added that this season will have many characters grow and we will also see some insane moments just like the first and second season, but more messed up this time. “I think we tackle a lot of new territory. I think you see our characters in places that you’ve never really seen them before, I’m just so excited for people to see it. That’s going to be awesome. I don’t know. I don’t know what else to say besides, I think I had the most fun shooting this season compared to the others because all of the actors now, and the crew, we’re just this big, huge family It just feels like second nature at this point and I love it. But I’m really proud of what we did and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
The series showrunner Eric Kripke has already confirmed that this season will adapt the “Herogasm” storyline from the comics, the “Herogasm” storyline focuses on superhero orgy festivals (yeah, it seems more messed up than Season 2’s penis scene and also the whale scene), the sixth episode of Season 3 will also be titled “Herogasm.” Kripke also revealed that the first episode of Season 3 will have the biggest and most ambitious set-piece than they ever attempted in the history of The Boys TV series.
The Boys Season 3 will add some new characters in the series like Little Nina who will be played by Katia Winter alongside Ackles who will play the aforementioned Soldier Boy. Almost all of the main characters are returning such as Karl Urban‘s Billy Butcher, Quaid’s Hughie, Antony Starr‘s Homelander, Erin Moriarty‘s Starlight, and many more.
