Netflix’s hit series about the British royal family, The Crown has found its Prince William in Dominic West‘s 13-year-old son Senan West. The news was reported by Variety, and it also added that the search for the actor for this role was conducted nationwide.
Dominic West will be taking over the role of Prince Charles, who was played by Josh O’Connor in seasons 3 and 4. Elizabeth Debicki will be taking over the role of Diana, Princess of Wales. Debicki recently appeared in Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet alongside John David Washington and Robert Pattinson.
According to Variety, Senan has been cast as “a slightly older Prince William, portraying him as he begins to mature into a young man,” like O’Connor’s Prince Charles, which saw grow from a soft-spoken man into an abusive bigamist. Senan West will make his debut in the final episodes of The Crown Season 5, and Variety also adds that “it’s believed the young actor’s audition, submitted via tape by his agent, caught the attention of the show’s producers.”
The Crown will return with an all-new cast, playing the British royal family. Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Price as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Debicki as Princess Diana, Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles, Jonny Lee Millers as Prime Minister John Majors.
The Crown Season 5 is all set to premiere in November 2022 on Netflix.
