A special live stream for the much anticipated upcoming anime film The First Slam Dunk revealed the main cast, theme songs, and the first trailer.
The original creator of the manga Takehiko Inoue will be writing the script for the upcoming film with also taking on the role of head creator. The characters in the film are designed by Yasuyuki Ebara. The film is produced by Toei Animation and DandeLion Animation Studio.
The music for the film will be composed by Satoshi Takebe and TAKUMA. The opening theme will be by the popular punk-rock band The Birthday and the ending theme “Dai Zero Kan” will be performed by 10-FEET.
The film stars Subaru Kimura (Jujutsu Kaisen) as Hanamichi Sakuragi, Shugo Nakamura (Blue Lock) as Ryouta Miyagi, Jun Kasama (Haikyuu!! To the Top) as Hisashi Mitsui, Shinichirou Kamio (Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. 2nd Season) as Kaede Rukawa, and Kenta Miyake (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 3: Stardust Crusaders) as Takenori Akagi.
Slam Dunk manga has been previously adapted for an anime that lasted for 101 episodes from October 1993 to March 1996, and there were also four short films that were aired during the anime series run.
The First Slam Dunk is all set to land in theaters on December 3. Check out the trailer for the film below:
