One of the biggest surprise hit TV shows of recent times has to be Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty. The YA series is based on a best-selling book series of the same name by Jenny Han. The Summer I Turned Pretty is currently in the middle of airing its second season, but before TSITP even concludes its highly anticipated Season 2 the streaming giant has already renewed the series for its Season 3.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is set in summer and follows a girl and two brothers as they navigate the treacherous roads of love and relationships. The cast of the series includes Lola Tung as Belly, Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah, Christopher Briney as Conrad Fisher, Sean Kaufman as Steven, Minnie Mills as Shayla, Rachel Blanchard as Susannah, and Jackie Chung as Laurel.
The head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios Vernon Sanders said this about the renewal:
“We’ve been delighted to see the passion with which fans have embraced The Summer I Turned Pretty, making Summer Fridays an entertainment phenomenon. This charming, deeply heartfelt series has shown the breadth of our customer base, appealing to a young, diverse set of viewers. Jenny Han is a gifted storyteller, whose fans have been clamoring for the third chapter of this story. We’re excited today to share the news that they have a lot more Summer to look forward to. Thank you to Jenny, Sarah Kucserka, and Karen Rosenfelt and our friends at wiip for their remarkable work and partnership.”
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 began its run on July 14 and quickly joined the ten most-watched seasons of shows on Prime Video with only its first two episodes. This means that the series premiere audience has doubled since its first season’s premiere.
Prime Video hasn’t revealed a release window for The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, which is not surprising as it is currently airing its second season. Check out The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 on Prime Video. Check out the The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 video below:
