Amazon Prime Video’s new series The Wheel of Time is adding more actors to its cast as the production moves forward on its second season, as reported by Deadline. The fantasy series is adding Guy Roberts, Arnas Fedaravicius, and Gregg Chillingirain as recurring characters in Season 2.
Roberts has been seen in the Prime Video series Hanna and he will take on the role of Uno Nomeshta, who is an old veteran Shienaran soldier with lots of injuries and a missing eye. Fedaravicius recently appeared in the Netflix series The Last Kingdom, and he will be taking on the role of Mesema Dagar, who serves Lord Agelmar. Chillingirain recently appeared in A Discovery of Witches and will be appearing as Lord Ingtar of House Shinowa, in the second season of The Wheel of Time.
The official synopsis for The Wheel of Time is: Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
The series stars Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred, Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran, Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybare, Michael McElhatton as Tam al’Thor, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al’Vere, Álvaro Morte as Logain Ablar, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Priyanka Bose, Daryl McCormack, Sophie Okonedo, Clare Perkins, and Kae Alexander. The role of Mat Cauthon which was played by Barney Harris in Season 1, will be played by Dónal Finn in Season 2. The first two episodes will be directed by Uta Briesewitz (Black Sails, Westworld).
The Wheel of Time Season 1 is currently airing on Prime Video with a new episode every week and the second season is currently filming in Prague, Czech Republic.
