Netflix’s hit rom-com film franchise To All The Boys is getting a spin-off series. To All The Boys trilogy is based on the New York Times best-selling book series of the same name by Jenny Han, the trilogy ended with the final film which was titled To All the Boys: Always and Forever, which wrapped the love story of Lara Jean and Peter earlier this year. The trilogy ended but there is more of To All the Boys coming in form of a spin-off series titled XO, Kitty in which Anna Cathcart will be reprising her role of Lara Jean’s younger sister Kitty.
We first heard about the spin-off series back in March, that a spin-off series is in active development, but now To All the Boys official Twitter account made it official by saying ” The Story isn’t over just yet. XO, Kitty, a Spinoff series starring @annacathcart inspired by To All the Boys is on its way to Netflix”. A video attached to the video sees a letter being written on a computer with a voiceover from Kitty (Cathcart) herself teasing that there are more letters to come with her love story just starting.
The series is getting ten 30 minute episodes, and it will be showrun by book series creator Han and Sascha Rothchild. Han and Rothchid will also be serving as executive producers alongside Matt Kaplan as a part of ACE Entertainment.
No release date for the series has been announced yet but is supposed to come out sometime in 2022. Awesomeness Studios, ACE Entertainment, and Netflix are looking forward to continuing the success of the To All the Boys franchise with XO, Kitty. The pilot is co-written by Han and Siobhan Vivian.
