Netflix has just revealed the trailer for its upcoming historical drama series Vikings: Valhalla, a spin-off of the hit series Vikings created by Michael Hirst. The teaser for the series was revealed during Netflix’s global fan event TUDUM.
Vikings: Valhalla is also created by Hirst and it begins in the early 11th century and tells the story of the legendary adventures of some of the most well-known Vikings including Leif Eriksson, Freyis Eriksdotter, Harald Hardrada, and the Norman King William the Conqueror.
The original series Vikings have wrapped filming on its sixth and final season in December. The regular cast of Valhalla includes Sam Corlett (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Frida Gustavsson (Swoon), Leo Suter (The Liberator), Bradley Freegard (Keeping Faith), Jóhannes Jóhannesson (Cursed), Laura Berlin (Immenhof – The Adventure of a Summer), David Oakes (The Pillars of the Earth) and Caroline Henderson (Tuya Siempre) and Pollyanna McIntosh and Asbjørn Krogh Nissen will be appearing in recurring roles.
Vikings: Valhalla is executive produced by Jeb Stuart, Hirst, Morgan O’Sullivan, James Flynn, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer, Sheila Hockin, and John Weber. Stuart will be serving as the showrunner on the series.
Vikings: Valhalla still doesn’t have a release date yet but it will be available on the streaming giant in 2022. Check out the teaser by Netflix:
