Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is finally here for all of us to watch. The highly anticipated gothic supernatural series stars the wonderful Alexandra Daddario in the lead role of Rowan, a neurosurgeon who finds out that she comes from a family of witches.

Based on Anne Rice‘s popular fantasy book trilogy of the same name the AMC series follows Rowan Fielding, a neurosurgeon as he finds out about her family of Witches and learns that she is one of them. When Rowan gets angry she has the ability to kill people with her mind.

The book trilogy is adapted for television by Masters of Sex famed creators Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, who are both serving as writers and executive producers on the series. Mayfair Witches is the second AMC series based on Anne Rice’s works with the first being the wildly popular Interview With the Vampire.

Based on Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches, Mayfair Witches is an exploration of female power and the mortal implications of our decisions. Mayfair Witches focuses on an intuitive young neurosurgeon (Alexandra Daddario) who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.
